Guilford

Mr.
Guilford is a Senior Insurance and Financial Services Executive
having served for over 20 years as Director, Executive
Vice President, and COO of Fidelity Corporation, (NASDAQ)
a diversified financial services holding company ranked
#44 by Fortune Magazine.
He was President of three of Fidelity’s life insurance
companies and a director of 14 of its other financial
institutions in the United States and Europe.
Mr. Guilford
also served as Founder and Director of TransOhio Financial
Corp. (NYSE), the largest multiple S&L holding company
outside of California at that time. He was a Founder
of the Metropolitan Bank that became a keystone in the
formation of the Dominion Banks organization and the
parent holding company, Dominion BankShares Corporation
(NASDAQ) serving as a Director and a member of the Executive
and Audit Committees.
More
recently he founded HazWaste Industries Inc., with James
C. Wheat, Chairman of Wheat First Securities, Inc., which
became First Union Securities and now Wachovia Securities.
HazWaste Industries Inc. won a ranking in Inc. Magazine’s
500 Fastest Growing Companies in the United States for
three consecutive years and also Richmond, Virginia’s “Rising
25” top growth companies for two years. HazWaste
eventually was sold to and merged with EarthTech Corporation
where Mr. Guilford served on the Board of Directors and
Executive Committee until its sale to Tyco International.
Mr. Guilford was named Entrepreneur of the Year in the
Richmond, Virginia Regional Competition sponsored by Ernst & Young
and Merrill Lynch in 1993 and 1994. He is currently a member
of Financial Executives International (FEI), The Country
Club of Virginia, The Bull & Bear Club and the
United States Tennis Association (USTA) - Life Member #998). |
